Acceptable Use Policy

Terminal Dojo teaches the syntax of tools also used for security testing (scanners, credential-testing tools, log analysis, etc.). That knowledge is dual-use by nature. This policy exists so everyone in the dojo learns it the right way.

THE DOJO OATH: I will only run these commands, and anything I learn here, against systems I own or am explicitly authorised in writing to test.

1. What you agree to

Only use offensive-tool syntax you learn here against systems you own, or lab/CTF environments, or systems where you have clear written authorisation.
Never use the Service to plan, coordinate or brag about unauthorised access to real systems.
Do not use the Service to harass, threaten or target a specific individual.
Keep your account to yourself — do not share credentials or automate submissions to farm XP or leaderboard rank.
Respect the community: no hate speech, no harassment, in guestbook/social features.

2. Every offensive mission carries a scope reminder

Missions involving reconnaissance, scanning or credential-testing tools state their scope explicitly ("lab targets only" / "authorised test only") in the briefing. That label is not decoration — it is the boundary of what the exercise licenses you to do outside the dojo.

3. Enforcement

We may warn, suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy, and — where we believe there is a genuine risk to a third party or a legal obligation to do so — report evidence of unauthorised access attempts against real systems to the appropriate authorities.

If you believe an account is being used to target a real, unauthorised system, contact abuse@terminaldojo.com.
